Transpacific Container Rates Near Record Highs as Asia–US Freight Surges Above $11,000
Transpacific container rates have surged back toward pandemic-era records. Xeneta assessed Far East–US East Coast spot rates at $11,259 per FEU on 17 September 2026, up 324.7% from late February and only 11.2% below the all-time high. Drewry’s Shanghai–New York rate reached $10,394, while carriers manage capacity through blank sailings ahead of Golden Week.
